‘Hellcat’ is likely the most popular feline in the automotive world right now (sorry F-Type). The well discussed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has recently been put in the hands of civilians. Nonetheless, there is already speculation of the ferocious 6.2L V8 and supercharger pair being in another Mopar, creating the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. The front and rear camo seen on the charger in this spy photo show the outlines of Hellcat-esque hood scoop, exhaust tips and rear spoiler.

So what does the 707Horsepower and 650lb-ft of torque equate to in a four door sedan? Starting from the manufacturer, not much. The Charger is already on the same LX platform as the Challenger and Chrysler 300. A different power train setup, with a few tweaks to keep all of it under control, is a simple edit to an existing platform, thus allowing the company to enter to a new market. With an estimated price tag around $65K, it will be interesting to see how other carmakers will respond to the bar set by the Hellcat power numbers.

If all speculation does come to fruition, a Dodge Charger Hellcat would be a broadening addition to Dodge’s line-up. Giving a practical yet fun option to a muscle-car buff as the Panemera did for the Porsche enthusiast. The glorious driving experience of the fastest production muscle car will no longer be reserved for summer weekend cruises. An owner of this sedan can enjoy all this power while getting groceries or dropping the kids to school. If the Hellcat Charger makes the cut for the 2015 lineup could it outshine its 2-door originator?
