Yes, Cadillac will not only manufacture an ATS-V sedan, but also a high-performance V-version of the ATS Coupe.  A prototype of the ATS-V Coupe was spotted earlier this week. Both the ATS-V sedan and ATS-V Coupe could be launched on the market sometime late next year. It is more likely that the sedan will be released first followed by the coupe variant.

From the photos, we can see that the ATS-V Coupe will feature a more aggressive front end, dominated by a front splitter, large intakes and the unique grille. We can see steel brake discs on this prototype as well as four large exhaust tips rounding out the rear.

Following in the footsteps of the BMW M3/M4 duo and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG/ C63 AMG Coupe, the ATS-V sedan and coupe should be almost identical when it comes to performance. A key difference however is that the ATS-V coupe is about 0.8 inches wider than the sedan.

Still to be confirmed, power in the Caddy ATS-V models are expected to come from an updated version of the twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre V6 found in the current CTS-VSport and XTS-V models. Unfortunately for some, the V8 has been ruled out, however, the new ATS-V models will come in both a standard form and a more powerful ‘Plus’ trim.

Peak output is expected to be around 425 horsepower in the standard configuration. This matches the horsepower output of BMW’s new M3 and M4 models, but is less than the Lexus RC F as well as the next-gen Benz C63 AMG. One advantage the ATS-V will carry is that it should be lighter than its rivals. The ATS-V will also feature GM’s seven-speed manual transmission as standard that is also seen in the new C7 Corvette. An eight-speed automatic option will be available as well.

We expect the ATS-V Sedan to lay around the $60k price range. The ATS-V Coupe will likely be a tad more.
